States Begin to Crack Down on Broker Abuse as the SEC Dithers

Several states are considering ambitious proposals to crack down on brokers amid frustration that the SEC is not properly protecting investors.

Sara Crovitz, most recently Deputy Chief Counsel and Associate Director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management, provides counsel on all aspects of investment company and investment adviser regulation.
